PHEW! Now that we’ve had a day or two (or several) to recover, here’s a little recap and a huge thank you to our community for an incredible 13th Annual Pine Belt Pride Week!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

The Spectrum Center & Pine Belt Pride takes no corporate donations. We have no paid staff. And yet we are the longest running Pride celebration in the state. We are the only LGBTQIA+ organization in MS that owns its own building. This we know is a testament to the strength and support of our community🥹

Every year, and throughout the year, we show up for each other - at events, through donations, with support, through volunteering. For 13 years! It’s communities like ours that make places like the Deep South liveable for LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized communities. We are so proud & honored to be a part of it, and we can’t wait for 13 (and many, many) more! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

WEATHER UPDATE!! Due to the expected rain and potential stormy conditions Friday night into early Saturday, we have decided to delay the start of Pride in the Park by 1 hour. This allows the team as well as vendors to start setup an hour later. Our opening act will start at noon instead of 11, and we have additionally pushed the Pride March through downtown to 3pm. We also cancelled the bounce house out of an abundance of caution (sorry kids). The remainder of the schedule is unchanged! See you then🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Looking for a way to celebrate Pride without the crowds and the public places? G**s & Games is the event for you! You choose how you want to participate - we’ll have a Switch setup going with games like Mario Kart & Smash Bros, a board game area with easy to learn group games, and a quiet room for crafters, readers, and folks needing a low sensory vibe. PLUS come for the fun themed snacks & prizes!!

Friday October 9 at 6pm. TSC 210 S 25th Avenue. Completely free and all ages are welcome to attend!

We are excited to bring the first ever Black Trans+ Panel to The Spectrum Center in Hattiesburg, MS! This panel is meant to explore the experiences of Black Trans people, from their upbringing to how we show up in the world today. Everyone is more than welcome to learn more about the lives of our sisters, brothers, and siblings.
