Unwind and get creative at our Monday Evening Open Studio in the pottery room! Join SMAA Mondays from 6-8 PM for guided studio time with instructors on hand to assist with both wheel throwing and hand-building projects.

This program, run by the South Mississippi Art Association (SMAA), offers access to tools, space, and limited firings. Please note: only pieces created in the studio and dried on designated shelves will be eligible for firing.

Registration will be provided by SMAA members during studio time--just drop in and get started. Some spin, sculpt, and create in a supportive, hands-on environment!

Get your hands in clay and celebrate the beauty of spring! Join us for a Flowers & Gardening-themes Clay Creations Workshop on Saturday, May 2 from 1-4 PM in the pottery studio at the RSJ Community Arts Center.

Led by Artist-in-Residence Laura Canfield, this hands-on class will guide you in creating a one-of-a-kind vase--perfect for your favorite blooms. You will glaze your piece the same day and pick up at a later date.

Emerging Artist Studio, formerly Open Studio, is open Thursday, March 26th from 4-6 PM! If you are a teen or college student looking for a space to experiment, express yourself, and dive into your art, Emerging Artist Studio is your monthly creative hangout!

You’ll have full access to a wide range of art supplies—from paints and pencils to mixed media materials. There will be project options, or you decide what to create! Or you can bring whatever craft or school project you're working on now! Whether you’re sketching, sculpting, or painting, an instructor will be on hand to offer guidance, answer questions, and help bring your ideas to life.
