Simply Scorched Pyrography by Renee Art through wood burning and carving. I began sketching and drawing with pencils at a young age. My secondary focus is wood carving.

Creating art has always been something I have done for fun, with most of my artwork being given away as gifts or donations. In 2017, I took a 6-week wood carving course and fell in love with the idea of working with fire and wood. My main focus is pyrography on wood and wooden instruments, which allows me to draw with fire instead of pencil. Nothing compares to creating a piece

of art out of a block of wood. I do incorporate different mediums into my artwork, like colored pencils, markers, wood stains and dyes. My subject themes vary but tend to be animal and nature-themed, which makes sense to me since fire and wood are two of nature's elements. I do original woodburning and carving pieces but will also do one-of-a-kind commissioned pieces.
