But for her, this moment belonged to The IHC Girls.

Their hard work, talent, commitment, and performances earned those bids and afforded their Dance Teacha™️ the opportunity to proudly represent The DanceIHC Academy on the Pink Carpet.

As we begin Season 14, I couldn’t be more excited to welcome our staff, IHC Girls, and families to another incredible year at The DanceIHC Academy.

Season 13 challenged us, strengthened us, and reminded us why we do what we do. Now, we’ve stepped into a new home with a renewed vision.

New Mindset. New Opportunities. New Home.

My commitment this season is to ensure every IHC Girl is educated, inspired, challenged, and empowered to become a disciplined artist and confident young leader.

I am equally passionate about supporting our instructors and directors as they create classrooms filled with passion, creativity, and purpose. One of the greatest joys of leading this Academy is trusting our educators with the artistic freedom to inspire the next generation. When our instructors flourish, our IHC Girls flourish.

This season, I am honored to continue leading our award-winning Competitive Division while also serving as the Director of The Senior Academy. Together, we will continue striving for excellence and proudly represent The DanceIHC Academy wherever we go.

To every parent and every future IHC Girl—no experience is required. That’s our job.

We teach. We inspire. We develop. We believe resilience is built through perseverance, excellence is earned through dedication, and success is achieved through discipline.

Mary Sam

Director of the Baton Twirling Academy (Emeritus)

The DanceIHC Academy is excited to welcome back Mary Sam as Director of the Baton Twirling Academy (Emeritus) for Season 14.

Since joining the Academy in 2018, Ms. Sam has played an instrumental role in expanding DanceIHC by establishing the Baton Twirling Academy. What began as a vision has grown into one of the Academy’s most distinctive and celebrated divisions, introducing IHC Girls to the rich tradition, discipline, and showmanship of baton twirling.

Under her leadership, the program has continued to grow, creating memorable performances while preserving an important part of New Orleans culture. As Season 14 begins, the Baton Twirling Academy looks forward to welcoming a new generation of twirlers and continuing its tradition of excellence.

Camea ♡

Master Instructor of Advanced Academy & Academy Standards

The DanceIHC Academy is proud to welcome Camea Dixon to our distinguished faculty for Season 14 as Master Instructor of Advanced Academy & Academy Standards.

Ms. Dixon brings more than nine years of dance experience and a passion for developing confident, disciplined, and technically sound dancers. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she cultivated a strong foundation in both dance education and performance.

Her training spans ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, and African dance, equipping her with the versatility and expertise to educate dancers across multiple styles while maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence.

As Master Instructor of Advanced Academy & Academy Standards, Ms. Dixon will lead the Academy’s Junior Division Advanced dancers while serving as the Owner & Artistic Director’s trusted instructional leader for maintaining the excellence, consistency, and educational philosophy that define The DanceIHC Academy. In addition to her leadership within the Junior Division Advanced Academy, she will provide instructional continuity across all Academy divisions, ensuring every dancer experiences the same standard of quality, discipline, and artistic development that has become the hallmark of an IHC education in the absence of their instructor.

Known for creating a positive and encouraging learning environment, Ms. Dixon is dedicated to helping every dancer build confidence, refine their technique, and discover the joy of expressing themselves through movement. Her passion for mentorship and unwavering commitment to student success make her an exceptional addition to the DanceIHC family.

With a heart for our youngest dancers, Ms. Cayah has become known for her patience, creativity, and exceptional ability to nurture confidence while building a strong technical foundation. She understands that every great dancer begins with a love for learning, and she continues to make that first experience unforgettable for every IHC Girl.

This season also marks the debut of our Kinder Academy Graduation, a special celebration recognizing the achievements of our Layette dancers as they complete their foundational training and prepare for the next chapter of their journey at The DanceIHC Academy.

Da’Janae Harris
Master Instructor of Academy Ballet

The DanceIHC Academy proudly welcomes Da’Janae Harris home as Master Instructor of Academy Ballet.

Beginning this season, Da’Janae will lead Academy Ballet on Saturday mornings in conjunction with our Academy Division classes, helping develop the technical foundation, discipline, and artistry of the next generation of IHC Girls.

Da’Janae’s journey is one unlike any other in DanceIHC history. As one of the original “Fabulous Five,” she helped establish the foundation of the Academy during its inaugural season. She is also the only dancer to train with The DanceIHC Academy for all ten years of its existence and graduate during its tenth anniversary season, making her legacy truly unmatched.

Throughout her decade of training, Da’Janae became an International and National Award-Winning dancer, Principal Elite Competitive Dancer, member of the inaugural En Pointe Technique Program, and a celebrated contemporary and lyrical soloist. Her artistry, consistency, and commitment to excellence earned her induction into Iota Eta Gamma, the prestigious graduating society of The DanceIHC Academy.

Now, she returns—not as a student, but as a Dream Builder.

As Master Instructor of Academy Ballet, Da’Janae will inspire young dancers to embrace strong technical fundamentals while continuing the legacy of excellence that shaped her own DanceIHC journey.

The DanceIHC Academy proudly announces the promotion of Ja’Nyri Ware to Co-Director of the Baton Twirling Academy!

Since joining The DanceIHC Academy in 2021, Ja’Nyri has become one of the Academy’s most dedicated leaders. Through her commitment, consistency, and passion for developing young athletes, she has grown into an exceptional Master Instructor and leader within the Baton Twirling Academy.

Working alongside Director Mary Sam, Ja’Nyri has helped strengthen and expand the Baton Twirling Academy, developing a program that continues to produce confident, skilled, and polished performers. Together, they introduced the Academy’s first featured Baton Twirling soloist, marking a milestone in the continued growth and success of the division.

Ja’Nyri’s passion extends far beyond the classroom. Whether providing additional instruction, mentoring students, or investing countless hours into the success of every baton twirler, she exemplifies what it means to be a true Dream Builder. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence have made her an invaluable asset to The DanceIHC Academy.

As Co-Director of the Baton Twirling Academy, Ja’Nyri will continue working alongside Director Mary Sam to lead the next generation of baton twirlers while expanding opportunities for our athletes to grow in skill, confidence, and performance excellence.
