This Christmas gift was a long-time coming. I was happy to gift this to Danielle Smothers Engelbert - she has been wanting a painting of Liberty Hill Church for a long while. A church that we both go to, a church that holds many memories for her. I guess good things come to those who wait!

As far as the little boy on the steps, yes, there is a story behind him.... but I will leave it to Danielle to tell that one.

I so enjoyed painting this one. In its heyday, this was once a working water-powered mill. Now, it sits in solitude on a mill pond with the water wheel long gone.
