Huge congratulations to Joey Linton, who is joining the Michigan Tech Pep Band on trombone! Joey’s steady leadership, sharp musicianship, and signature low‑brass swagger have shaped our ensembles for years — and now he’s bringing that brilliance to one of the most iconic pep bands in the country.

Today we’re celebrating Lily Ruiz, a steady, spirited, standout percussionist who’s crashing into her next chapter with unmistakable enthusiasm as she joins the Wayne State University Marching Band in the cymbal section this fall.

Lily has always been the heartbeat of our percussion family — bringing energy, excitement, and electric enthusiasm to every rehearsal, performance, and game day. Whether she was driving the groove, lifting up her section, or lighting up the sideline with her smile, Lily made Hartland louder in all the best ways.

Now she’s taking that same spark to Warrior Country, ready to make her mark with every crash, clash, and cymbal‑shimmer. Hartland pride follows her all the way to Detroit.
