This weekend, we closed the World Premiere production of Circus Fire - a story about the tragedy, blame, heroism, and healing from the aftermath of the 1944 Circus Fire in Hartford.
Two extensions, 12 performances added, and a sold out run. We are so grateful to the community that allowed us to tell this story.
Thank you to the entire cast, creative team, and TWH staff for making this possible. Thank you to the entire staff at the First Company Governorโs Foot Guard for welcoming us into their space over the last few months. This experience would be nothing without your care and hospitality.
Thank you to our fearless leaders: playwright Jacques Lamarre, director Jared Mezzocchi, and co-conceiver Rob Ruggiero for your vision and commitment to telling Hartfordโs story.
And lastly, thank you to the community for being a part of this truly remarkable production. Weโve heard so many stories from friends, family, neighbors, and circus attendees who were impacted by that day on July 6, 1944. We are grateful to everyone who shared their stories with us throughout this process.
Linked in our bio is a donation page to support the restoration and ongoing care of the historic site and memorial. Help us continue to honor those forever impacted by the fire. A gift of any size makes a real difference. โค๏ธ
