THANKFUL THURSDAY! 🙏
Gratitude abounds! I have not one but TWO special announcements! 🪧

First, thank you to the New England Foundation for the Arts’ New England Dance Fund, with generous support from the Aliad Fund at the Boston Foundation to support Romancing the Stone/Phase 2.

AND

Thank you to the Vermont Arts Council and the Vermont Community Foundation for an Artist Development Grant to support hiring professional website optimization services and costs to rent studio space.

These grants make it possible for me to do the creative work I do here in Vermont. 🟢⛰️

Stay tuned for more information soon including workshops, anticipated performance dates and auditions!

I was thrilled to be asked to choreograph a section for Imaginative Conceptions produced by the Mnemosyne Arts Collective in Middletown, CT. For those who know me, I am quite obsessed with the Greek myths, so I had to say 'yes.'

It has been a long while since I set body and soul in a dance studio. Rehearsals began hybrid remote yesterday – with myself in Vermont and the dancers in NYC and Connecticut.

Our section is inspired by the birth of Athena, born fully dressed from Zeus's head. Set to Eric Whitacer's The Chelsea Carol, the dance story brings to life the Athena who is dream-bearer, time-bearer, queen of sun and stars and white light.

The performance is FREE.!

A sneak peak at our first hybrid rehearsals for "Imaginative Conceptions" with the Mneymosyne Arts Collective. I am in Vermont while the dancers are in Brooklyn NYC and Connecticut.

So grateful for the dancers trusting the process at it unfolds with less than three weeks of scattered rehearsals.

Inspired by the birth of Athena.....

Ending the school year on a positive note! 🎶

In addition to being a performer and choreographer, I am a Teaching Artist for Hartford Performs and it is one of the most rewarding aspects of my time/career.

During this Residency, we focused on the geometrical shapes of 🔵 and 🔺 as outlined in the 3rd grade curriculum.

In addition to classroom geometry the students learn spatial awareness, creativity, working together with a partner(s) whether they "liked" them that day, or not, respect for themselves and their work, respect for others, leadership skills, following directions and connectivity to name a few.

The students' "thank you note drawings" lifted my heart and soul and spirit.

They nailed my signature curly hair, drew their groups dancing in a circle, and I am drawn taller than them, which rarely ever happens given my short stature.
