A big shout out to Wassons Nursery! Because we cannot use the original tree on the courthouse lawn due to renovations, Wassons donated a tree for us to light on Weiler Plaza. We are so grateful to all the wonderful people who help make this a great event! Please get out and support small businesses today! Our community has some great small businesses and they really need your support to succeed!!!

It’s tree lighting day! Bundle up and join us from 3-6. Bring a new unwrapped toy for the toy drive! For each one donated, you get a chance to win a $50 gift card! Ugly sweater contest at 5, children’s and adult division! Thank you Proofs Barrber Society! Blackford Band and Choir are both performing! Meet a live reindeer! Ride a carousel! Get your Christmas photo taken! Tree lighting ceremony at 5:30!

In 24 hours the Tree Lighting Festival begins… and it going to be dry, but COLD! Bundle up and come to Weiler Plaza!! A big THANK YOU today to a special group! John Lancaster, as he’ll be there with some delicious chili! Chad and Dawn from the Flip Flop to serve up hot dogs to go with that chili! And Joelle Freiberger and family serving Cookies and Hot Cocoa. Lots of good stuff to warm you up!!! And Glad Tidings church will do their cake walk! ❤️ Hope to see you there tomorrow!!!!

We're just a few days away from our Tree Lighting Festival. Rather than spend too much time during the ceremony with so much talk, we are going to be shouting out some special people here!
Although the tree lighting festival is completely funded by donations, those donations are funneled through the City Clerk Treasurer. Dana Whatley keeps amazing track of everything. She gets all the vendor checks, gift cards and supply orders. She goes above and beyond, and she always has a smile on her face! She is a true joy to work with! THANK YOU, DANA,
My other big shout out is to street department and Jeff Thomas. Jeff makes sure that we have extra trash cans at the plaza, and that the road closure barricades are at the corners for me. He and his crew are there if I need anything. Also, thanks to them for getting the town Christmas decorations up! THANK YOU, HC, STREET DEPT
A shout out to Joel Allred and the HCPD. They will make sure that my street and the parking lot are clear the day of the event.

The annual Cornuelle Veterans Tree Lighting will be Saturday November 30, from 3-6 pm this year. Due to the construction work on the courthouse, the event will be held on Weiler Plaza, with a special tree being lit there. We have some great new additions to the festival, so be sure to mark your calendars!
