Arts in the Gap

Arts in the Gap Arts in the Gap is dedicated to cultivating artists, embracing Appalachian culture, and connecting communities.

Based in the Cumberland Gap, at the confluence of three states—Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia, AITG includes week-long workshops, shorter courses, one-day classes, exhibitions, concerts, readings, screenings, studio opportunities and festivals, offered by Lincoln Memorial University in partnership with the historic town of Cumberland Gap, Cumberland Gap National Historic Park, and other partners

from our tri-state community and beyond. Activities take place in the town of Cumberland Gap, home to LMU’s developing arts complex—as well as on LMU’s main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee, and in the natural environment of the Cumberland Gap National Park, both only five minutes from the historic village. Whether you are a working artist or working to find balance between artistic pursuits, family, and your day job, or you want to explore your creative potential through a variety of arts activities, plan to join us for part, or all, of Arts in the Gap.
