[NEEDLE FELTED PUMPKIN WORKSHOP]

In this needle felting class, perfect for new or returning needle felters, you will learn to make a seasonal pumpkin with experienced instructor, Pat McNally!

All supplies/materials provided for the workshop. No experience necessary. You will go home with a completed pumpkin!

MRL call for creatives to design new card!

Calling all local creatives! We need your help designing our new library card. In honor of our 100th anniversary in 2028, MRL is seeking two artists to design special anniversary adult and youth library cards to be used system-wide!

Design submissions should mention the 100th anniversary or "birthday" of MRL, contain our logo, and demonstrate MRL's mission to be the welcoming heart of our community. We accept original artwork across a range of mediums. Read our submission guidelines and submit your design by Friday, October 2, at mrlib.org/events/anniversary/ 📚📖

[LOOM FOR SALE!]

Mighty Wolf Loom, for sale for $1500 (retails new for around $3700)
4 harness, 36" weaving width, 12 dent, built-in storage tray

Notes on items that need attention:

1. Ratchet system note-- It is unclear if this is the model and how it is set up, or if there is a rusted bolt (Try a little silicone based lubricant. Or bolt could be replaced) on the ratchet system where currently you have to apply pressure to the ratchet dog to set it in place. It is functional, just manually operated currently.

2. Harness for 1st shaft/lever jack-- 1st shaft harness is functional but sticky, seems to need to be realigned (from some online troubleshooting, it looks like this issue could simply be due to the fact that it is currently not on a completely flat floor and this could be temporarily causing the misalignment. It's also possible the 1st harness/lever jack wood or metal is warped, in which case the harness lever jack (jack and lamm kit, $105) could be replaced. Other troubleshooting suggests use of Schacht recommended lubricant to get things running smoothly and/or ensuring that the nuts & bolts aren't over tight). See Schacht web page for sticky shafts.

[Scrap & Yap: A Junk Journaling Workshop]

Unleash your creativity and join us for a fun class to learn all about the practice of junk journaling! In this class you’ll be able to learn about what it means to junk journal, make your own spreads, and connect with other crafters. No experience is needed, just come ready to create.

All supplies/materials provided and you will go home with a journal and storage box for your junk journal stash.

In this workshop, you will learn to make a needle felted sheep. Choose between making a multi-colored, white, or brown sheep. The armatures will be pre-made, so each unique sheep will be pose-able.

Valley Creative Reuse (est 2023) is an art & craft supplies thrift store and creative reuse center in Harrisonburg, VA, fueled by community donations of lightly used art & craft supplies that may have otherwise ended up in the landfill, which are then recirculated back into the community at a low cost, with the goal of strengthening sustainability, creativity, community, accessibility, and joy.
