In anticipation of this weekend's snow forecast, artists in Kindergarten and 1st grade learned about patterns, radial symmetry and brush control while painting snowflakes. We also learned about Snowflake Bentley, a photographer born in 1865 who took photos of snowflakes with a camera that cost more than 10 cows!

Second graders have been exploring texture, color, contour, shape and lines. Then we throw in a little imagination when it comes to the background. What fun!

4th and 5th grades studied well known artists throughout the school year. In February, we learned about John Dine.

The scripture verse for the month was "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." — Matthew 22:37-39

Students experimented with texture, layers, contrast and hue while creating this amazing work.
