It premieres at EMU's Mainstage Theatre on November 1st and then plays at Asbury United Methodist Church on November 16th at 7:00 PM

Description: This visceral, intimate, and highly theatrical play grapples with the complex nature of King David's character, drawing visual and thematic inspiration from Renaissance and Baroque art. Actor Justin Poole embodies multiple characters from the biblical narrative while musician Perry Blosser performs a musical backdrop. This fresh and gritty take on David challenges preconceptions, encouraging audiences to wrestle with the complex nature of the epic hero whose life and legacy continue to inspire.

High school musical season is in full swing, and there have been lots of great productions in the Valley! If your musical theatre-loving children just can't get enough, consider enrolling them in EMU Summer Musical Theatre, a fun, community-oriented intensive training program for kids from 4th grade to recent high school graduates. There’s no rest at EMU Theater. After just a week of no shows, and our sold out production of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, EMU is holding auditions for our fall production of Almost, Maine. Almost, Maine will be directed by guest director Ellie de Waal while Justin Poole is leading the Europe Cross-Cultural with his wife Amanda. It’s open for all to audition and details can be found in the image below! Please come out and audition!
