This is what a community is supposed to look like!!

I seriously cannot wait for Friday. Simple Simon’s, Gary’s Electric and The Sons mean so much to me, and they’re people I know I can lean on when I have a crazy idea and want to make something happen.

And this time we get to come together and give it right back to our community — especially these kids! We’re covering the food, covering the music and throwing them a completely FREE 5th Quarter party after the game.

Nobody is doing this for anything in return. It’s just a bunch of friends and local businesses saying we got this and making it happen together.

That’s the kind of community I want to be a part of. That’s the kind of stuff that means something to me.

Friday is going to be pretty dang special. ❤️

📣🏈📣🏈 YALLLLLL!!!!! This is by far the most exciting news we get to share. So this seasons FIRST 5th Quarter is Friday night. Gary’s Electrical Service and Okie State Room put their heads together and decided to partner up for this one AND not only is EVERYONES $5 wristband covered but…. THEY HAVE A LIVE BAND COMING TO PERFORM IN THE PARKING LOT!!!!! 😱😱😱 We can’t wait to see everyone at the game and welcome the Harrah Football Panthers back home WITH THE TROPHY! 🏆

“A lot of people talk about “community” like it’s a vibe. Kenzie Borton built it like a job site, one decision at a time, and it’s turned Okie State Room in Harrah, Oklahoma into a live music venue that feels like a living room. We get into her unlikely path from riding motorcycles and building a custom chopper to working construction, earning an engineering background, and even packaging nuclear waste, then walking away from all of it to bet on herself with zero corporate backing.

We talk about what actually makes a local venue work: hospitality that’s consistent, food that brings people together, and a calendar that gives the town something to count on. Kenzie shares how open mic Wednesdays, Tuesday karaoke, free live music on many Sundays, and a rowdy monthly bike night keep the room full of energy, while table reservations and smart booking keep the business alive. She also opens up about the pressure of caring too much, answering every message, and trying to support both local musicians and the bigger shows that help pay the bills.

Worship night adds another layer, built as a first-Monday gathering that’s welcoming to believers, non-believers, and anyone just needing a place to breathe. The heart of the conversation is service: charity events, helping families cover bills, supporting friends with medical needs, and even tracking down an instrument for a kid who wants to join band. If you care about live music in Oklahoma, small business leadership, community events, sobriety-friendly spaces, or building a family-friendly venue near Oklahoma City, this one hits home.
