The Nest was never just about a bookstore, gift shop or even workshops. From the very beginning, The Nest was created with one purpose: to offer people a place to slow down, create, connect, and find a little peace.
I dreamed of a place where children could discover new talents, where grandparents and grandchildren could make memories together, where friendships could begin around a table, where stories could be shared, and where all people could simply feel welcome.
Looking through these photos reminds me that, in a very short time, that dream became real. It confirmed something I had hoped all along—that people were longing for this kind of place just as much as I was. It *felt good.
✨Children lit up with pride as they held something they had created with their own hands.
✨Adults who believed they “weren’t creative” surprised themselves.
✨Conversations became friendships, strangers encouraged one another, families spent intentional time together like the "good old days", and laughter filled the space.
✨ I watched people leave a little lighter than when they arrived.
Those moments - and the people creating them - were the heart of The Nest. They are the most important part of its story and the part we should all choose to focus on.
The friendships that were formed, the confidence that was discovered, the smiles, the creativity, and the moments of peace we shared mattered most at The Nest, and they are the things that matter most in life. Their value is found not in a price tag, but in the lives they touched.
Whether you came to paint, read a story, browse the bookshelves, attend a class, or simply “stay awhile,” thank you. *You created something much bigger than a business. *You created a community and I can’t wait to see what YOU do next!
