Took a risk on this new lot coming. I know I will need a specialized buyer to appreciate what we have here. I recently acquired a number of 10" lps/ 33 1/3 speed from the 40's and 50's. These are highly collectible and priced to sell. The collection includes crooners, the old style trios and quartets, some jazz, some Sinatra, some big band, and others that will fill in a collection for those wanting to stack their catalogue with vintage music packaged in artful covers from the era.

I hope to have these in stock by next week. If you are a serious buyer then contact me and maybe we can arrange a peek into the collection.

Had someone come in the other day and used some app to tell us our prices were wrong. I would agree- they are generally too low. But overall he showed our clerk where he could buy a number of albums from a number of sources for prices other than ours.

My father would say, "I like a man who'll take a pig in a poke. That leaves me with the hog on the hoof that I can see and decide best about". (A poke is what we called a bag in the old days).

Anyway. Our inventory in packaged so that you can look at the product and the price and decide if you want it on not. I research and price every item that comes in. I usually pull the lps and sonic clean them if need be. I want you all to be happy with your product and with us. Thank you for your repeated patronage.

You can always message me about selling product or queries about inventory, [email protected]. You'll hear back.

I am reading a biography of Timothy Leary. Discovered he worked at the now VA in WW II in Butler and was married here. I pulled his license application. Also realized I had a bit of a gem in my collection. I think moments like this is what makes younger or older collect and dig through bins of seemingly irrelevant stuff. You never know what you'll find.

Here's a write up on the LP:
This LP was created and released in 1966 by Capitol Records as a response to the burgeoning use of L*D -- lysergic acid diethylamide -- among American teenagers. Each side of the long-player consists of a single, continuous track. Narrated by author Lawrence Schiller, side one sets "The Scene" with information on the history of the drug, its effects, as well as sound bites of acid users -- both novice and seasoned -- during and after use. Several countercultural iconic names are dropped, most prominent among them is that of Owsley Stanley aka Bear. He is specifically mentioned for creating a synthesis which left the L*D practically free of impurities and, for a time, the safest non- pharmaceutical acid being circulated. After providing a brief update of L*D's legal nature -- circa 1966 -- there are additional quotes from Laura Archera Huxley, widow and biographer for her late husband, author of The Doors of Perception, Aldous Huxley. She vehemently disagrees with the illegality of the drug, yet is quick to warn of its dangers when used irresponsibly. Following a brief allusion to the infamous Acid Tests held by Ken Kesey and company, portions of a live Allen Ginsberg poetry reading are played prior to some interview clips in which he talks about his revelations and insights on the substance. There are also a few minutes of rambling Acid Test recordings, concluding with the profound statement that "...on the basis of the evidence...the answer to the L*D problem should be just about as obvious as the basic question: Is this trip really necessary?" The LP's inner-gatefold includes a "Glossary of terms used in this album" with an A to Z of hippie slang -- from "Acidhead" to "Turn On,".
