🏆 GEORGE MATTHEW GUTIERREZ DOES IT AGAIN! 🏆

George Matthew Gutierrez has been crowned the 2026 National Speech & Debate Association National Champion in Program Oral Interpretation!

His remarkable national journey is a testament to years of hard work, talent, and dedication:

✨ Freshman Year – National Runner-Up (2nd Place) in Storytelling
✨ Sophomore Year – National Champion in Humorous Interpretation
✨ Junior Year – National Runner-Up (2nd Place) in Duo Interpretation alongside Karla Rivera
✨ Senior Year – National Champion in Program Oral Interpretation

To achieve this level of success on the national stage year after year is truly extraordinary. George has represented our school, community, and state with excellence, passion, and purpose throughout his high school career.

For the first time EVER, Harlingen High School has been crowned the 6A UIL One Act Play State Champions! And just as incredible, Harlingen South brought home the 5A UIL One Act Play State Championship for the SECOND time in two years! 🎭✨

Tonight, both of these amazing companies will take the stage one more time for a FREE encore performance at the HCISD PAC at 7:00 PM. Your last chance to see these history making plays. We guarantee you’ll be amazed!

Before the show, come help celebrate these students with a short championship parade beginning at Wilson Sports Park and heading to the PAC at 6:00 PM. Let’s pack the route and the PAC and show these students how proud our community is! ❤️💚
