The Kindness Rocks Project HAFB Kindness Rocks Project for Hanscom Air Force Base. Not with the base. Hi! Welcome to The Kindness Rocks Project for Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts.

The Kindness Rocks Project is a project designed to lift others up with words of affirmation, spread kindness, and encourage creativity. Paint a rock, place it in the community, spreading kindness. Find a rock? Keep it or share it with someone who may need it. The Kindness Rocks Project was started by Megan Murphy in 2015 on Cape Cod. She wrote "You've got this" on a rock and left it on a beach on

Cape Cod. After a friend found it, she started leaving more rocks with inspirational messages behind. As this project began as the simple hobby of one and since has grown into a kindness movement of MANY, it is our responsibility to educate people about LNT (Leave No Trace) policies! Please take a moment to visit www.LNT.org and learn about their seven principles and guidelines. Their mission is to protect the outdoors by teaching and inspiring people to enjoy it responsibly. The Kindness Rocks Project™ promotes and adheres to their guidelines and wants to remind you to place rocks responsibly and seek permission for placement. Be MINDFUL be RESPECTFUL and be KIND to our environment. Dropping 1 rock with encouraging words on it in a public place can be inspirational, dropping hundreds could undo any good intentions you have created. Never leave Kindness Rocks in national parks, hiking trails, businesses or without prior permission from your town. Thank you for your continued kindness and for the beautiful work you are doing making this world a more compassionate place to live in. In this group you can share your rocks, rock painting ideas, locations of rocks etc.. Only rule...be kind. : )

Hi friends!
I followed someone’s advice and shopped for rocks to paint at Home Depot. There was a post that recommended buying landscaping rocks at home improvement stores. I was desperately impatient to start painting so this is what I did.
But I won’t do it again and here’s why. The bags were $10.00 each for 40lbs.. It’s not a bad deal, right? Wrong. The rocks were not as smooth as I had hoped. It’s not easy to draw or write on a bumpy rock. It’s actually a lot harder than I thought it would be!
Today I decided to try Fourth Cliff in Marshfield for rocks. If you haven’t been you need to go. It’s a little piece of heaven and it’s part of Hanscom! It’s open to military members only. I hit the jackpot! Not only were we one of 3 families on the entire beach but we had billions of rocks to pick from. They are perfect too. Soooo smooth. No bumps on these babies and they were free!
What’s better than that?!
