The Copper Stills Band was founded in November 2014 by lead singer and guitarist Joe Valentine. Joe was joined by Rick Huggett of Jackson County, MI and they began working to create a tight knit sound which could appeal to country music and rock lovers. Their group began creating a buzz in their community of Hanover, MI and when it was time to record, a local session drummer, Dan Kesterke, was con
tacted to record the new tracks. After completing the album and taking a year off to pursue and complete his other musical projects, Dan returned to perform full time with the band in Spring of 2016. Solo guitarist and vocalist Kenny Flowers joined in Summer of 2015, and slide/lead guitar Mark Cox joined in fall of 2015, rounding out the 5 man line-up. The combination of funk/slide/blues/rock influences give the CSB a unique sound in the Michigan Music Circuit. The Copper Stills Band takes its influences from the new country sound and blends it with old rock and blues riffs from the 60’s and 70’s. Joe Valentine draws his vocal inspiration from country singers such as Eric Church, Brentley Gilbert, Jason Aldean and Zac Brown, and continues to develop his own musical talents and life experiences as the band tours and grows. Together CSB are building a strong local following and have crafted original hits such as, "Raise Your Glass," "Goin Salin," and "Windshield."
