30 Years of Ox | Where It All Began

Every company has a beginning. Ours started with Chris and Kathy Keffer.

In 1996, Chris and Kathy founded what would become Ox Industries with one facility, one product and a belief in doing things the right way.

From the beginning, recycled paper and sustainability were part of the foundation but so were the values behind the business: hard work, taking care of people, operating safely and building something meant to last.

Thirty years later, Ox has grown far beyond that first facility and first product, but much of what Chris and Kathy built into the company remains.

Their commitment to family, sustainability and doing right by people continues to shape who we are today.

As we celebrate 30 years of Ox Industries, we’re proud to honor the two people who started it all.

Manufacturing Day kicks off a month dedicated to celebrating the people, skills and innovation that keep American manufacturing moving forward.

Throughout October, we’re proud to recognize Manufacturing Month—and especially the people behind everything we make at Ox Industries.

For 30 years, manufacturing has been at the heart of Ox. From our roots in 100% recycled paperboard tubes and cores, we’ve grown into a vertically integrated company with an expanded product line that today includes 100% recycled paperboard, tubes and cores, and protective packaging.

Manufacturing is more than what we make. It’s the people who show up every day, solve problems, master their craft and keep things moving.

Happy Manufacturing Day (and month) from Ox Industries! 🇺🇸

This year, Ox Industries is proud to celebrate 30 years in business.

Founded in 1996 as a tube and core company, Ox reached an important milestone in 2007 with the acquisition of our first paperboard mill and becoming vertically integrated. From there, we continued to grow, expanding our capabilities, product offerings, and the industries we serve.

Throughout that growth, sustainability has remained at the forefront. Today, Ox is a vertically integrated manufacturer of 100% recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products, including tubes and cores, chipboard sheets, and protective packaging. We continue to invest in responsible manufacturing and solutions that support our customers while keeping environmental responsibility at the center of how we operate.

Today, nearly 600 team members across Ox Industries contribute to the strength, service, and capabilities we bring to our customers every day.

“As we look toward the next 30 years, we see tremendous opportunity ahead. We’ll continue expanding our capabilities, products, and services, investing in sustainable solutions, and finding new ways to serve our customers and the industries that depend on us,” said Kevin Hayward, President & CEO.

To our customers, vendor partners, and team: thank you. Your trust, partnership, and hard work have helped make 30 years of growth possible.

Here’s to the next 30.

The core may not be the first thing you notice, but it plays a critical role in everything wrapped around it.

Ox tubes and cores are engineered for the strength, consistency, and dependable performance that industrial applications demand.

That’s the inside story. ♻️ 💪
