Dear Classicopia friends,

I am back in the Upper Valley this weekend of October 11-13 to perform a really fun program entitled "FABULOUS FOUR-HAND FROLIC." Elizabeth Borowsky and I will combine forces on a single piano to perform wonderful works by Bizet, Faure, Beach and the amazing "Rhapsody in Blue" by Gershwin, now celebrating its 100th anniversary. We will do four concerts:

1) Friday, October 11 at 7:30 at Old South Church in Windsor
2) Saturday, October 12 at 2:00 at the home of Andrew Bauman in WRJ (reservations required)
3) Saturday, October 12 at 7:30 at the First Congregational Church in Lebanon
4) Sunday, October 13 at 2:00 at the Calvin Coolidge Historic Site in Plymouth, VT

For more info and to buy discounted seats in advance, please visit: https://classicopia.org/concert/fabulous-four-hand-frolic/.

(Please note that the parking lot at FCC in Lebanon will be difficult to get to due to construction of the nearby Firehouse.
You can park anywhere on the Green or at the neighboring Upper Valley Music Center as long as you park on the gravel part there. You can still use the back lot and the ramp entrance on the side, but you cannot get there directly from the Green and must follow the Detour signs)

The Saturday evening program at FCC will also be a Benefit Livestream concert for the victims of Hurricane Helene in the Asheville area and two wonderful non-profit organizations in the region---ArtsAVL and the White Horse Black Mountain. Please join us on YouTube at 7:30 this Saturday at this link: https://www.youtube.com/live/DYd2vsoomhk

Please feel free to share that link with any friends across the country or around the world so they can support this wonderful and needed cause. You can read about both organizations at the link above. If you cannot be there for the concert, you can still donate to ArtsAVL at: https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/vUERlqvYdanI34MqdhwtSA

CONCERTS THIS WEEKEND!

Join us for this very special program to help us celebrate Black History Month. This concert features some wonderful works for violin, cello, and piano by some neglected black composers, including some fun ragtime arrangements by Scott Joplin; two Suites of Spiritual arrangements by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Undine Smith Moore; and Blues-inspired pieces by Florence Price and William Grant Still. This is music filled with the pain and anguish of an oppressed people, but also powerful melodies, inspirational themes, and an exciting rhythmic drive. The wonderful Borowsky siblings—Emmanuel on violin and Frances on cello—are back to perform these sadly neglected, but very soulful works of music.
