The Ant Hill

The Ant Hill The Ant Hill is Planet Ant Theatre's storytelling series. True stories told live, by you. All are welcome to Detroit's other live story event, The Ant Hill.

Hosted by the Planet Ant Community, The Ant Hill takes place in Hamtramck, MI. In the tradition of live storytelling events like the Moth, Risk or Snap Judgement, The Ant Hill brings storytellers to the stage with their own stories told live without notes. Each "teller" will get 7-10 minutes of time to bring their unique story to life based on a theme chosen by the community of hosts. To tell your story simply show up at The Planet Ant, sign up and go up.

Had a great time closing out the year with our Ant Hill family on Wednesday. To the 10 folks that turned out, we appreciate the stories you shared about getting grounded as kid, the mental fortitude to stay grounded in difficult challenges running an auto parts store, and so many other great stories.

Big shout out to Lauren, Mike, Jen, and Ed for helping to run the show. Each of you have been a big support from facilitation, theme creation and providing a helping hand throughout the year.

We are reflecting on 2025. Back in September a wonderful local artist and friend to the Ant Hill helped us create an Ant Hill poster. This person deserves a special thanks, thanks Melissa Dettloff. Had a fun time with the theme of Transitions with many familiar faces this past Wednesday. Stories about seeing yourself in others, empathy for yourself, and running marathons in the brutally cold rain.
