Keeping It Human: Introducing U Rock Art’s AI Policy

At U Rock Art, our mission has always been to celebrate true creativity, raw passion, and the unique human spirit. Every piece of art we share, teach, and celebrate is a reflection of real human experience.

As generative artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape the creative landscape, we want to be completely transparent with you about where we stand. As an artist, I have used AI to clean up my work. This does not entail using generative AI to pull other artists work into my work. I use it to enhance my original photography and drawings by stating instructions like "Remove background or increase contrast or move elements of my art around for better composition" However- NOTE- I will admit to testing with AI in several past posts- I will no longer do so and instruct our employee team not to use generative AI in their work.

I will also admit- that I have also used AI to generate some content text in my posts in the last six weeks versus my original writing. There has been a lot going on and I have not had a lot of time to write as I had in the past. I realize now that our followers are very passionate and have been upset about this use of AI. A couple folks chose to give our company a 1 star rating on Google because of our AI use. I have asked these folks to re-consider and come to talk to me- and that led to more backlash. While I do not agree with using a customer service rating system to voice perspectives in this way- as the harm and impact to a small business to me is too great versus talking to an owner about your views--- I do deeply respect freedom of speech in our country and am thankful that we live in a place where we can express our views.

So, after much prayer, we are officially introducing U Rock Art’s AI Policy. Our Commitment to Real Creativity. We believe that art is a powerful form of human connection. Because of this, we pledge the following: 100% Human-Made Content: Every piece of artwork, design, and written content created by U Rock Art is crafted entirely by human hands and minds.

No Generative AI: We will not use AI image generators or text in our creative process.

Use of AI Editing Tools: We do reserve the right to use AI editing tools in the creation of our original art. This is not using other artist's work and this is where we draw the line.

Supporting Real Artists: We champion real creators. We will never knowingly feature, sell, or promote AI-generated artwork.

Why This Matters: For us, the imperfections, the brushstrokes, and the personal stories behind a piece of art are what make it beautiful. While technology has its place, we believe that automated algorithms cannot replace the heart, soul, and lived experience of a human artist.

Be confident that when you support U Rock Art, you are supporting real people, real dedication, and authentic creative expression. Thank you for being part of our community and for standing with us to keep art beautifully, uniquely human.

Asking for all the prayers for Molly- we are at the ER (2nd time today for her) 4 seizures / terrible care from one local hospital/ now at a second- and likely soon to be transferred to the children’s hospital if her work ups demonstrate. So dearest Lord- we lift Molly up- embrace her in your healing light and lead her providers in wisdom to treat her.
