🪸 FOSSIL CORAL — the ancient reef builder! Coral has been constructing underwater cities for over 500 million years. Fossil corals preserve the intricate hexagonal patterns of individual polyps, giving us a window into ancient reef ecosystems. Some colonial corals grew for thousands of years! 🌊🌺

🐌 TURRITELLA — nature's perfect spiral staircase! These elongated, tightly-coiled gastropod shells have been spiraling through Earth's oceans for over 100 million years. When found in clusters, they form beautiful "turritella agate" — a prized gemstone used in jewelry. 🌊✨
Turritella fossils are so common they're sometimes called "screw stones" — and they make stunning jewelry!
