Some.pictures from the Forever Love Rescue at the Kitty Corner Gettysburg

Sadly, 😖😖the humidity and rain⛈️ caused two windows painted yesterdag to crinkle so I will be back to clean, scrape and paint two side windows.

BUT i am so happy how the whole front of the building turned out! ❤️💙❤️💙

🌤️ Humidity was NOT in my favor today! When the air gets this heavy, paint starts behaving a little weird, so I decided to call it a day and protect the quality of the work.
​The silver lining? I got to spend the afternoon interacting with some incredibly sweet cats through the glass while I painted! 🐾
​While I usually love to wrap projects up in one day, I am definitely not disappointed that I get to come back tomorrow to finish the last two windows and add all the final details.

Next week I am painting the windows of Forever Love Rescue at the Kitty Corner Gettysburg 🎨🐈

​I can’t wait to give their storefront a patriotic makeover just in time for America's 250th anniversary—and what better place to celebrate than historic Gettysburg?! 🇺🇸✨

Please just look 🥹
I got to meet and yap with Kate, the owner of this little library.

I just have to say since ive been pushing outside of my own comfort zone of trying to lean into my art..... The most rewarding thing in this whole sha-bang, is the people!!

I got to talk about all sorts of life with Kate today. Our individual neurodivergence really jived well. A super fun person who just wants vibrancy to a passion she really loves and cares about.

She gets to make her display inside creative and wanted outside to reflect her natural bubbly outgoing personality while also protecting her books from UV.

We yapppppped it up. Its really special seeing/hearing people doing things that they love while I get to do what I love. And that what I love to do bridges the whole gap.

Kate has amazing stories, and although some of them came with heartache, its truly the gift of a colorful mind to turn these things into comedic relief. She loves that her little library has become the Hotspot for her neighborhood, bringing her neighbors together.( Who love it being there and are gracious with their donations.)

Due to recent thievery, Kate had to put up cameras after a bizarre chain of events that was the result from a tiktok video gone viral. And even though its a sad reality. She gets to see her library make a difference because of it.

I had a blast in the beautiful sun 🌻🌼 with good conversation. And the best delicious and complementary coffee that a girl can ask for!!

Tomorrow I get to paint the Little Free library!
Im so excited about this little project because its going to show that you dont need a huge space to make a huge impact.
The paint is going to help protect this little library's books from the UV.
Who doesnt love little libraries anyways!?!? im so excited to do something magical with it.

DISCLAIMER: these little things in the community survive because of community. If you want to take a book, great! Thats what its there for! But please do not take all of her books as she has experienced this in the past.

Today I went back to where the window painting all started
Emingee's Fastnachts, Donuts, Ice Cream and Italian Ice

I heard one request "I want my tree back" from Mel. Who had loved a tree that I painted and survived many seasons on one of her windows.
After a little over a year it started to Crack, so I had to take it down. I gave her her tree branch back along with some floral framing around her signage.

I met Mel and Greg months before I inquired about painting for them the first time. My oldest worked for them and would always rave about how amazing they were to work for. Naturally, my family started spending more time there. She definitely had all the reason to boast how good of people they are.

They created an "Art corner" inspired by my youngest. A place where kids could grab paper, markers. They put a white board up for customers to doodle on as they came in.

They essentially donated 50 doughnuts for me to take to my church one Sunday morning.

Mel and Greg just have a way about them that make you feel welcomed and at home. All of their goodies are homemade. The best doughnuts around (no, seriously) right next to their apple crisp. All homemade ice-cream and Italian ice.

If you ever find yourself on the Hampton Circle, do yourself a favor and stop it. Especially with the hot weather FINALLY here. Emingees surely has what you need to cool off.
