“I am lucky enough to be surrounded by such supporting peers in the show that have been there to help me figure out exactly what I wanted to do with this character. Without their love and support, I wouldn’t have been able to perform the role with as much confidence as I did. Even though I was playing a Beineke, I felt like a part of the family, in and out of rehearsals. “I remember the first week of rehearsals and not knowing much about any of my fellow castmates. As each week went by, I learned more and more and began to appreciate these people for who they are, and love that we can share the same passion for musical theater. I always feel safe and welcome in this community we have built. We now have become friends where we can lean on one another for love and support, in and outside the theater. These friends are now considered my family. “Pugsley is a very unique character to say the least. He is playful, curious, a little selfish and extremely overprotective of his older sister. The more I got to understand Pugsley, the more I realized the valuable life lesson his character taught. Nothing lasts forever and that’s okay, even if you have to find out the hard way. By portraying the character of Pugsley, I got to embody the innocence and protectiveness a younger sibling has for their older sibling.” - IHSMTA Student Audriana Wagner, Pugsley in Hampshire High School’s production of “The Addams Family”
