🌀 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: PUSSYFIST 🌀
Make no mistake — Return to Paradise is deeply dedicated to psychedelic music.
The Energy Stage will be psychedelic trance, nonstop, around the clock.
But what kind of psychedelic journey would we be creating if we didn't occasionally change the set and setting and explore some different energies along the way?
Psychedelia isn't only about light, color and transcendence. Sometimes the journey goes somewhere harder. Darker. More primal.
And hard techno and hardcore have an incredible ability to pull those stronger energies out of a dancefloor.
For that part of the journey, we bring you PUSSYFIST — the husband-and-wife tag-team project of Jay Maniakal & Baroness Jennylee, performing on the Electric Stage.
There is some serious NYC underground history behind this one.
Jay's roots stretch back to the early-'90s New York hardcore and rave scene, discovering hardcore techno through a Frankie Bones Factory 1 mixtape in 1993 and becoming part of the illegal warehouse and outlaw rave culture that helped shape NYC's underground.
Through the years, his journey has taken him from outlaw spaces to legendary NYC rooms including CBGB, Limelight, Palladium and The Tunnel, while remaining connected to hardcore, gabber and hard rave culture as a DJ, producer, promoter and artist.
Today, Jay and Jennylee bring their histories and energies together as Pussyfist — producing and performing as a tag team and carrying their sound from NYC to the UK, Detroit, Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey and beyond.
Together they also founded RTDF Rave Radio, with a mission to keep underground techno, hardcore and hard rave sounds alive.
At RTP3, we're giving them the space to take us somewhere a little harder.
Not psytrance.
Still part of the psychedelic journey.
