Hi! I’m Christina Zhu.
I’m a college student of Purdue University Northwest. My major is Communication of Creative Arts. I always wanted to be a fashion designer and previously went to Pratt University in New York to study the fashion design class for about 3 months. Taking Visual Communication Design classes helps me improve my skills and passion for art. I love to use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to make my design projects. I am an enthusiastic and passionate student for the visual arts.

Mara,

Mara Sahulcik is a senior at Purdue University Northwest studying Visual Communication Design. Mara had never taken an art or design class prior to college but has found her passion in creativity while studying at PNW. She enjoys designing while focusing on color and typography. Mara is looking forward to graduating in May and starting her career as a designer.

Mara started her college career in Elementary Education but quickly realized that this was not the right fit. She was always creative from an early age but never considered pursuing a career in design. During her freshman year of college creating became her outlet. Mara was constantly working on calligraphy and watercolor in her free time which influenced her to learn more about becoming a designer. After a few classes in the Visual Communication program, Mara knew that communication and design were exactly the areas that she wished to pursue on a professional level.

Design to me is art in a business setting. Within Graphic Design, I want people to be aesthetically pleased yet they can use my designs in any business setting. As a VCD student I have come to learn how to being my own flair to designs yet still get my message of being business professional across. I'm a very vibrant person and student. My work reflects so, if you like color and class then I'm your gal.

I’m not your average young 21 year old student. I’m a fighter and a lover. I do everything with love for everyone and everything. I’m the type of person who refuses to be belittled and torn down. Best word of advice for anyone only God has the power to test you and bring you forward. No one on this Earth can do otherwise. I might have only started my art career 4 years ago but I’ve always been an artist at heart. I always go into any situation with an open mind and open heart. To receive blessings you have to be kind to everyone from your friends to your haters. And all I can say is I’m BLESSED, I’m BOLD, I’m STRONG, I’m LOVE and so are all of you. I wish to spread a positive message to young people all and to help anyone along my journey to help them on their journey.

Natalie is currently a senior at Purdue University Northwest. She’s a Visual Communications major who finds joy in anything design. Her favorite things to create are modern templates for resumes and business cards. She’s a very versatile designer who is up for any creative challenge. She loves pushing the boundaries of design while still staying informed on current trends. She thinks it’s vital to not only be original but also understand the needs of

Natalie grew up in Hammond and is the youngest of her three siblings. Creativity was something she learned at a young age. While in school, her favorite class was always art, she saw it as a way to express herself. Going into high school she found more mediums of art. She took ceramics, 2D and 3D glass art, painting, and drawing. She knew she wanted to continue being creative in the future but worried it wouldn’t make her a living. She first thought about going into pharmaceutical studies purely for the money but soon realized what she was most passionate about, art. The Purdue design courses were the first time she worked with digital art and absolutely fell in love with it. She continues to push herself in finding new techniques for design. Always follow your passion and everything else will fall into place.
