Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. , The City of Hammond, and The Juneteenth Committee present the Juneteenth Celebrate Freedom event on this Friday, June 19th.

The celebration begins at 10:00 am at Martin Luther King, Jr Park. Come out and enjoy food, music, fun and giveaways.

Don't miss the first ever Freestyle & House concert at The Pavilion at Wolf Lake on Friday, June 26, 2026!

Featuring DJ Mickey Mixin Oliver, DJ Rich Hotmix Huerta, DJ Flashback Chicago, and DJ Bobby C, get ready for a night of nonstop energy and dancing! Attendees can enjoy more than just the music. The event will also feature a variety of local vendors offering food along with a cash bar serving a selection of beer and seltzers throughout the evening. No outside food or beverages will be permitted at this event. This is a FREE event at the Pavilion at Wolf Lake on June 26th, 2026, from 6 PM – 10 PM.

Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Hammond Port Authority are proud to announce the return of the WHAM After Midnight Bike Ride for 2026.

Bring out your 2-wheelers, tricycles, or unicycles and enjoy a ride through Hammond, Whiting, Highland, and Munster's beautiful neighborhood bike paths and city streets.

WHAM is scheduled to roll on Saturday, August 8th into Sunday, August 9th. Register for FREE online.

Riders will enjoy a 30-mile-long, or 10-mile-short scenic route.

The ride begins and ends at Hammond's iconic Wolf Lake Pavilion. Ride along the majestic shores of Lake Michigan, and enjoy the tranquility of both Wolf Lake and George Lake in Hammond. See firsthand, Hammond, Whiting, Munster, and Highland's spectacular parks and neighborhoods, ride through historic Downtown Whiting and Hammond, and pass Oil City Stadium, home of the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. Adventurers taking the long route will meander through Wicker Park and Munster's beautiful neighborhoods.

Pre Ride entertainment starts at 9:00pm. (entertainment times subject to change)
Ride kicks off at Midnight (technically August 9th).

Roads around the Wolf Lake Pavilion will close at 11:45pm!

Please make your way to The PAV stage by 11:45pm for announcements and to begin the route line up.

It will take 2-4 hours on average to complete the long route. The short route shouldn't take longer than an hour.

All participants riding the long route must complete the short route portion by 1:30am.

Echoes of Pompeii is comprised of an 11-piece orchestra to give fans the true sound of a Pink Floyd concert. From synthesizers, delayed vocals, slide guitars and female backup singers, Echoes of Pompeii leaves no stone unturned. They will grab you with our state-of-the-art visuals such as lasers, lights, video, and iconic images that Pink Floyd was well known to produce. Echoes of Pompeii plays all eras of Pink Floyd from the early Syd Barrett days to the later exclusion of the Roger Waters era, and everything in between. So let Echoes of Pompeii take you back in time when we were all young and listening to the best music and making the best memories.
