If it’s cheap, it’s because someone isn’t getting paid.

I read that somewhere last week and it really resonated with me. We’ve been so brainwashed into searching for the least expensive things, that we’ve sacrificed quality in exchange for unpaid labor.

There’s no better time than now to slow down on buying poorly-made goods that you don’t really need and work on investing in things that fill your cup while supporting the makers and your local economy.
