Grounds For Sculpture is a 42-acre public sculpture park, museum, and arboretum located in Hamilton, NJ. It was founded in 1992 on the site of the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds by Seward Johnson to promote an understanding of and appreciation for contemporary sculpture for all people. Visitors can enjoy the outdoor permanent collection of 300+ works, temporary exhibitions in six indoor galle

ries, and learn about contemporary sculpture through a variety of educational programs including hands-on workshops for adults and children, lectures from top creative minds, tours for all ages, and more. For guests with limited mobility, wheelchairs and scooters may be rented in the Welcome Center. Complement every visit with a meal at one of our cafes or at the fine dining Rat's Restaurant, and enjoy shopping in the well-appointed Museum Shop.

Grounds For Sculpture is excited to partner with Third Way Cultural Alliance to present ‘Creative Freedom: A Salon Experience featuring Marshall Allen, Salvador Jiménez-Flores, and Jamaaladeen Tacuma’ on Saturday, July 18!

Join us for an evening of live performances and intimate conversation between the musicians and artist Salvador Jiménez-Flores, moderated by Nicole Sweeney of WRTI radio. The legendary Marshall Allen from Sun Ra Arkestra and avant-garde bassist Tacuma will debut new music from Allen’s unreleased album 101: An Audio Odyssey in Jimenez-Flores’ exhibition ‘Raices & Resistencias.’ Exclusive first copies of 101: An Audio Odyssey are available for purchase with your ticket and will be on sale at the event.

GFS Members are also invited to a member-exclusive social in the Member Lounge at 6:30before the main event begins at 7:30PM.

Today’s $5 After 5 Friday is SOLD OUT! Save the date for June’s $5 After 5 Friday on June 26. Tickets will be available 2 weeks in advance.

This summer, visit the gardens during golden hour. On the last Friday of the month from May through August, we will be offering $5 tickets from 5-9PM! GFS members can access their usual member benefits and are also welcome to bring as many guests as they’d like for $5 each.

Tickets for our first $5 after Five Friday are selling fast, but still available at 7:30 and 8PM. Share this with a friend and plan your visit today before it sells out!

Congratulations to Roberto Lugo on his newest public art exhibition, ‘Alfarero del Barrio (Village Potter)’ in Madison Square Park! Commissioned by Madison Square Park Conservancy and fabricated in partnership with Johnson Atelier, these monumental sculptures celebrate Puerto Rico’s rich history and culture and invite community interaction and play.

‘Alfarero del Barrio’ will be on view through December 6, 2026. Check it out next time you’re in New York!

Stroller tours are back for another season!

Each Tuesday morning in June, join us from 11AM-12PM for a 30 minute stroll through the gardens with a GFS docent, then head into the studio for a creative artmaking activity. This program is designed for families with children ages 0-3.
