The basic purpose of the Erie County Agricultural Society, sponsor of the Erie County Fair, is to preserve and enhance, by educational endeavors, the agricultural and historical legacy of New York State. The Society sponsors the Erie County Fair, which is held annually and intended to promote and showcase our community's agricultural traditions, talents, diversity and heritage. The Erie County Fair reserves the right to delete or block content including but not limited to the following types:
- Vulgar or offensive language
- Content (or a user) that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, genetic testing or sexual orientation
- Spam
- Content that advocates illegal activity
- Promotion of particular goods and services
- Content which supports or opposes political campaigns or ballot measures
- Infringement upon copyrights or trademarks
- Information that may compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems

The 2026 Post-Undergraduate Scholarship recipients are pursuing some incredible futures!

These four students previously received an Erie County Fair or Erie County Agricultural Society Scholarship, and we’re proud to continue supporting them as they work toward advanced degrees:

🎓 Aubrey Gerhardt of East Aurora is pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology at Penn State University. Growing up as a fourth-generation dairy farmer, her interest in genetics was sparked by her agricultural upbringing and she hopes to use scientific research to help make agriculture more sustainable and efficient.

🎓 Jessica Engel of Springville has brought her interests and skillset to Kansas State University where she has been pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Her experiences showing and caring for livestock inspired her goal helping farmers maintain healthy herds and supporting the people who feed our communities.

🎓 Corinne Covert of Lakewood is pursuing a master’s in education at SUNY Oswego, focusing on agricultural education for grades K–12. Through teaching and mentorship, she hopes to help young students build confidence, find their voice and discover their own futures in agriculture.

🎓 Skylar Metzger of Holland is pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy at the University at Buffalo. After 11 years in Erie County 4-H, she’s carrying the responsibility, compassion and communication skills she developed into a career in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Their paths show how experiences with agriculture and the Fair can reach far beyond the grounds. Congratulations to all four recipients and we’re excited to see the difference you’ll make! 👏

12,218 entries and so much to be proud of! 🎨🌾🏅

From the Showplex to Creative Arts, Ag-Grange and all across the Fairgrounds, your creativity and hard work were on full display this summer! Our Competitive Exhibits saw 9,982 entries as well as 2,236 livestock entries in 2026.

Thank you to every exhibitor who shared their talents, carried on a tradition or tried something new. We’re already looking forward to what you’ll bring to next year’s Fair!

From the Fairgrounds to the classroom, and beyond, we’re celebrating our 2026 Erie County Fair Scholarship recipients. 🎓

These students have been directly involved in Fair departments, activities or operations, contributing to the traditions and experiences that make the Best 12 Days of Summer possible. Together, our annual scholarship programs through the Erie County Agricultural Society awarded a record $128,000 in 2026. The goal of the scholarship program has always been to connect the region’s students with agriculture, business, and volunteerism and we’re excited to continue that tradition with this group of 19 Erie County Fair Scholarship recipients as they take their next steps!

Let’s hear it for these students and the impact they’ve made on our Fair community! 👏

The Fair might be over, but Farm 2 Table field trips are just getting started for the school year!

Farm 2 Table at the Fairgrounds started back up just a few weeks ago. From animals to crops to the farmers themselves that make it all possible, students learn about the journey of food from the farm to their table.

One of the most recent topics covered in the Agriculture Discovery Center was shelter for dairy cows. With the weather getting colder, students learned how dairy farmers provide for their cows and worked together to create their own "cow shelters"!

A special thank you to HERD WNY and the Buffalo Bills Foundation for their support of Farm 2 Table throughout the month of September! Want to see what's happening here during October? Stay tuned as we dive into local crops and harvest time in New York State!

GOT THE W ⚔️

We stepped away from the Fairgrounds to see that great Buffalo Sabres first win at home this season! Also got to see some familiar faces, Nathan G***e and Patrick Kaleta for the hockey fans who follow us. 🏒🦬

Thanks to NOCO Energy for letting us come celebrate that win! 🏆 Let’s go Buffalo!

Celebrating those who are shaping tomorrow! 🎓🌱

Meet this year’s Erie County Agricultural Society scholarship recipients! These students are pursuing their education in agriculture related fields and preparing for careers that will help shape the future of agriculture and our communities.

Together, our annual scholarship programs through the Erie County Agricultural Society awarded a record $128,000 in 2026. The goal of the scholarship program has always been to connect the region’s students with agriculture, business, and volunteerism and we’re excited to continue that tradition with this group of 18 ECAS Scholarship recipients as they pursue their education and career goals.

Happy first day of Autumn! 🍂🌾

As we head into fall where farmers across the region are hard at work during harvest season, we’re taking a quick look back at some little hands that were hard at work too, learning, harvesting and having good old-fashioned Fair fun at our newly renovated Little Hands on the Farm exhibit!

From caring for animals and picking apples to trying their hand at beekeeping, Little Hands on the Farm presented by NBT Bank gave kids and families a chance to experience the skills and traditions that help bring food to our tables year-round. 🚜🌱

From molten glass to carved wood, there were some incredible pieces that took shape throughout this year's Fair. 🔥🪵✨

Fairgoers watched Mobile Glass Studios and chainsaw carver Chad Gainey Sculpture turn their craft into one-of-a-kind works of art, with each finished piece auctioned in support of the Erie County Agricultural Society Scholarship Fund. We're proud to say that the two auctions raised a combined $22,314 which directly goes to students pursuing their education, allowing them to bring their dreams and goals as young professionals to fruition. 🎓⭐️

Thank you to the Mobile Glass Studios, Chad Gainey, bidders and Fairgoers who helped turn creativity at the Fair into an investment in the next generation! Another special thank you to Leaf Filter for sponsoring Mobile Glass Studios and helping make these demonstrations possible.
