Thank you is never enough for everyone who helps make Old Settlers happen! From our City of Halstead, fire and EMS, to our amazing sponsors, volunteers, participants, vendors, and everyone who comes out to celebrate with us — we are truly grateful.
It takes so many people working behind the scenes and giving their time, talents, and support to make this weekend possible. We are so thankful for each and every one of you who helps keep this special tradition alive.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who comes out, supports our community, makes memories, and fills our town with so much life and joy. Old Settlers wouldn’t be Old Settlers without all of you!
We are incredibly proud of our community and so grateful to celebrate together. Here’s to another year of small-town traditions, big memories, and the people who make Halstead such a special place to call home.

Congratulations to our 2026 Old Settlers Award winners! Introducing Steve and Cindy Seirer as King and Queen, Ron Barry as Harold Rea recipient, Susan Adams as Good Neighbor recipient, and John and Ileen Weber as Lifetime Achievement recipients.

We also had a great community church service this morning with First Mennonite, First United Methodist, Halstead Life Church, Bethany Baptist, and Halstead Bible Church all taking part.

Cadence and Brantley Lee won the cardboard regatta despite capsizing immediately since they were the only entry.

The turtle race had 18 water turtles and two land turtles. Lily's turtle named Ivy won first, followed by Temperance's turtle named Oakley in second, and Brayden's turtle named Green in third.
