Film based photography lovers
In 2009, Cindy Rehagen Langewisch set out to create a group of like minded analogue photographers in the greater Hallowell, ME. area. Maine Traditional Film Photographers is not a club- it is an open to the public group that meets on a regular basis, once a month and occassionally coordinates photo shoots in areas of interest at the suggestion of group attendees. While there are co/co-ordinators, there are no elected positions and never will be- one of the premises of the group. METFP members have had numerous group exhibits over the past 11 years, and , numerous solo and/or small group shows. We meet at the Harlow Gallery, at 6:30 PM on the fourth Wenesday of each month, Sept.-May or June. We take turns giving brief or lengthy presentations and/or securing a presenter from outside the group. Bottom line is, we love photographing, developing and printing our works, talking about other photographers, sharing our works and continuing the analogue processes. We support each other and learn from each other. We do not hold competitions, there are no awards or prizes involved. Just a genuine passion to keep searching the ‘ah-ha’ moments in our private lives, in Maine and afar. Currently, we have folks attending sessions from Berwick, Buxton, Richmond, Augusta, Sidney, Livermore Falls, Mt. Vernon, Newcastle, Wayne, Brunswick... we travel because we love the shared topic and comraderie. Come join us if you like or contact Cindy for more information.
