We have some unfortunate news to share with all of you.

This year, we do not plan to put up our light show.

We truly appreciate that most of our neighbors are supportive of our display — and even disappointed to hear this news. Last year, our light show became very popular, and as lines of cars stretched down the street, we became increasingly mindful of neighbors with mixed feelings about the joy it brings versus the disruption it can cause.

There are also those who believe a neighborhood should remain silent and sterile year-round. We know they will never be won over, and our hope is simply that they remain the only voices of disapproval.

We also feel bad for those who won’t see this message and may still make the drive, hoping to catch the lights this season.

We do plan on bringing them back next year. With an expected natural drop-off in interest — along with some measures like reduced hours and intentional breaks in the playlist to help move cars along during busy times — we hope to find a more sustainable balance that still brings joy without overwhelming the neighborhood.

This will be a sad year for our family, but maybe we’ll take a lesson from Cindy Lou Who and remember what Christmas is really about.

We now have our Halloween lights up. You can make them play tonight. Tomorrow they will be on loop for trick or treaters.

This year and our lights are a wrap. Tomorrow is take down day for us. Our total requests were 2,192 songs😵‍💫. That is astonishing and about double of last year, thank you for coming out so much. The most requested song is no surprise to us because it seems to be on every time we look, it was Bluey followed by Grinch and Let it go. In last was our only Hanukkah song Miracle which maybe wasn't well known. We hope 2025 is filled with joy for all of you

We wish everyone a merry Christmas. It has been a very busy week in front of our house and it has taken some patience from our neighbors. We are going to adjust a few things. You may notice the show is less bright and we will be turning off requests at 9:00 from here on out. We will also be adding some reminders about keeping the music low, turning off headlights, blocking driveways, and turning around in driveways. Please help us minimize the disruption from this tradition

New to the show this year are our moving head spot lights. They belong on the roof but for now they are on the ground. They look amazing when it is snowing or foggy out and I see snow in the forecast. Right now the songs that utilize them are Tommee Profitt O come Emmanuel, let it go, and into the unknown. Soon hopefully they will also work on blinding lights and joy to the world.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Debugging has gone well and we will be ready to light up at 5:00. Afterward we will turn on the request system with a limited playlist until I can add the rest of the songs. In the coming days we will add some additional items but at the moment everything from last year is up and working.
