As I promised to all brides in waiting, let's talk about ways to save money on your wedding reception.........

Your venue should always be the first task to accomplish once you have been proposed to by your knight))) Let's talk about how to save money in this area. Of course everyone competes for the prime Saturdays from the months of April till October and the venues usually get booked months if not a year in advance. Whether it be a grandeur ballroom at a hotel, a destination place such as the Industrial Museum in Baltimore or a back yard with a tent, you really have options. Keep in mind you will pay the highest price for Saturdays because you compete with thousands of brides so a possibility to get that venue at a cheaper price increases with the choosing of a Sunday. Most venues don't have their Sundays filled and offer fabulous discounts to you if you choose a Sunday instead of a prime Saturday. In addition, all the vendors including entertainers like me will offer huge discounts for a chance to work on a Sunday. The only exceptions would be the 3 big holiday of Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day weekends where a price difference may not apply. Things you should consider when choosing a Sunday event would be if you have a large guest list and an alcoholic wedding. The last thing your guests want to worry about is a hangover on Monday when work calls! )) Most brides choosing a Sunday do so because their event is a smaller one with not so much alcohol. If you plan to have an open bar then best stick to choosing a Saturday wedding date. Another big factor is the wedding itself. Many pastors and clergy do not like performing weddings on a Sunday so you need to ask them also for availability. Their parish or congregation comes first and tying up a church on a Sunday is frowned upon sometimes. However, if you are having a wedding with a clergy man or woman that travels, then an outdoor wedding will always be fabulous. Given the outrageous costs of weddings and receptions these days, why not think about a Sunday wedding. As for me, I will always offer a $250 discount for my services if you choose a Sunday! Either way, secure a date and get that venue booked first. All else comes second!

I wish to welcome you to my page and thanks for taking the time to visit. My 45 years of entertaining the public has been some of the most wonderful and rewarding years of my life and I have stories to tell that will keep you laughing. I'm full of stories!!
