We are looking for artists!!!

KMR Dance Collective is looking for professional dancers and student apprentices for the 2022-2023 season.

We are a highly collaborative dance company in the MD, PA, WV tri-state region with a focus on contemporary dance, dance theater, and interdisciplinary movement art. Our mission is not only to present dance, but to support the professional dancers and pre-professional students in our communities while expanding dance audiences.

Dancers and apprentices will receive project based pay, teaching and training opportunities, and work within a flexible schedule.

After taking the day to process, we want to reach out and thank each and every person who attended our premier concert last evening.
SHE IS ART has been such a journey this season and holds so much meaning for us as a company. We could have never imagined that we would have performed for an audience that did not have one empty seat.
Thank you again for the support and your wonderful feedback.
Even more importantly thank you to the four fearless dancers of KMRDC, for their continued support and allowing us into their beautiful studio space, and the for supporting this project from the beginning and allowing us to use their beautiful venue.
This is just the beginning, but for now our artistic hearts are overflowing. Stay tuned 🤍

A note from our Artistic Director:

This Saturday KMRDC will present their first company dance concert, SHE IS ART, a choreographic exploration of the contemporary female, at the Hagerstown Community College Kepler Blackbox.

Built through a deeply collaborative process, SHE IS ART is a choreographic representation of shared female narrative, experience, and connection. This modern dance concert aims to examine the roles and relationships women fill and/or experience within our society through multiple female lenses.

A few notes regarding our performance…

The content of SHE IS ART is most suitable for young people 12 and over.

If you choose to donate, cash is preferred at this time. Checks must be made payable to Kelsy Rupp.

We will have a limited number of KMRDC t-shirts for sale, $35 cash preferred

ALL DONATIONS AND T-SHIRT PROFITS WILL BE GOING DIRECTLY TO PRODUCTION COSTS AND THE DANCERS’ SALARY FOR THIS PERFORMANCE.

We hope to see you Saturday for a great evening of dance in our community!
