Last night we closed the script on our 2026 Act 1 Scene 1 - One-Act Festival Weekend and our biggest play festival to date. Over the course of the three nights, we presented 29 original one-act plays performed by 66 actors and directed by 18 directors.
However none of this would be possible without you, the audience, that filled the seats all three nights. We say Thank You for your support of Village Playbox.
A special Thanks goes out to the 66 actors, 29 playwrights and 18 directors that devoted their time and talent to this event.
Of course THANKS goes to the production team, starting with the Play Selection Committee; Scott, Samantha, Anita and Natasha. It was no easy task receiving and reading over 700 play submissions from around the world, but somehow they were able select this years one-acts.
Thank you to Gary, who had to program nearly 400 light and sound cues.
But the biggest Thanks goes to our Production Manager, Natasha Thompson. There isn't enough time in the day to list her responsibilities that ensured the success of this event. Receiving and reviewing plays, communicating with all the playwrights and directors, scheduling all the rehearsals, juggling all the conflicts, scheduling tech week and performances, gathering set pieces and props, stage managing, etc... the list goes on and on. THANK YOU, Natasha!!
