The American Robin (Turdus Migratorius), Connecticut’s state bird since 1943, and Mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia), Connecticut’s state flower since 1907.
Connecticut’s state flag was formally adopted on September 9, 1897 following a proposal in 1895, featuring three grapevines on blue shield representing early settlement.

Colorado became a state on August 1, 1876 and this license plate art represents two of its iconic symbols.
The Lark Bunting, Colorado’s state bird since 1931, and the Columbine flower, Colorado’s state flower since 1899. The Colorado state flag was adopted in 1911, after a design contest replaced an unpopular 1907 version. The red and yellow are represented with the Columbine Flowers.

California Quail (Valley Quail), California’s state bird since 1931, and the California Poppy, California’s state flower since 1903.
California’s state flag (The Bear Flag) features a grizzly bear, a red star and a stripe, and the words “California Republic” on a white background. It was officially adopted in 1911 and standardized in 1953.
