The Arts in Guthrie - aka TAG

The Arts in Guthrie - aka TAG The Arts in Guthrie's mission is to grow Guthrie's Arts Economy. Guthrie is ripe for this type of program.

The mission of our new organization will be to provide a structure from which all arts-related activities can spring. As a clearing house of sorts for arts events, arts instruction, arts performances, arts economy, etc., we intend to promote community involvement in all aspects. We believe that many voices coming together to speak as one, with focus, can make a bigger impact on our community and y

ield a greater influence within the governmental structure of Guthrie. Whereas, once, we were singular artists, patrons, or organizations making a statement, now we will be a force for furthering arts involvement across the board. We have been opening up new ways of accommodating arts related events and businesses for a few years now. With the success of the Mumford & Sons Gentlemen of the Road Tour here last September we have made a strong statement to people who would like to bring their event or business here – We Are Open For Business!! No longer is Guthrie satisfied to rest on the remarkable accomplishments of our past! We are ready to stand on that foundation, which we are so proud of, and reach further! By attracting the types of businesses and events that “Millennials” are looking for, we have begun to make that transition in a very organic way. Creative people are drawn to Guthrie and we are welcoming them with open arms! Guthrie is on the cusp of our next Renaissance, and The Arts will be the driving force behind it! With that in mind, I believe that it is essential that we create a strong presence to help direct and manage the new things to come and the changes that will inevitably happen as we progress.

Buck Dollarhide's impact on the art community in Guthrie can't be overstated. From helping establish one of the oldest visual arts enterprises in town to his teaching new generations to love to play with mud in the most beautiful and creative ways to developing his own eclectic body of work, his influence will endure.
Thank you for sharing the great gift of your art with us. You will be missed.

Attention painters! We have a community member who has a question - can you help her by answering in the comments?

“Hi there! Would you share how to transfer a picture on a canvas and how to paint it?”

I’m Joseph Mack, the creative force behind Affinity's Touch Media—a multimedia production company rooted in storytelling, culture, and authenticity. With a passion that spans videography, cinematography, graphic design, and motion graphics, I bring visions to life with a unique blend of technical expertise and soulful artistry. My background in broadcast and video production, along with years of experience capturing everything from documentary work and branded content to music visuals and community-focused projects, has given me the tools to tell compelling stories that resonate.

Affinity’s Touch Media is more than just a production company—it’s a reflection of my dedication to community, culture, and connection. Whether I’m shooting a suspenseful miniseries like Where They Stood, promoting child development centers across Oklahoma, or designing bold t-shirts that rep Guthrie’s real heritage, every project is personal. I believe in honoring the past, amplifying voices, and delivering visuals that move people. Creativity isn’t just my job—it’s my calling.
