Over 100 schools across the State of Iowa participated in the 2025-2026 Iowa High School Musical Theatre Awards, presented by EMC Insurance.

We are pleased to announce that AC⚡️GC’s The Addams Family has been recognized for the following:

⭐️ OUTSTANDING OVERALL PERFORMANCE [1 of 11 schools recognized state-wide, across all class sizes, and the smallest public school to earn this honor. **A special video presentation will be given at the Awards Showcase to recognize our production.**]

Several AC⚡️GC students will perform in the Opening Medley of the Awards Showcase, on Thursday, May 28 at 7pm at the Civic Center in Des Moines. It will be live-streamed at https://www.iowapbs.org/ and broadcast on Iowa PBS at a later date. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, May 15 at 10am and can be purchased through DMPA.org or by calling the ticket office at 515.246.2300.

A: Shows are incredibly expensive to license. We typically spend between $1800-$2200 each year just for rights, royalties, and script rentals, alone. This doesn’t include set pieces, costumes, props, or any of the other *magic* it takes to make our shows happen.

Q: Do you have reserved seating?
A: No, we are currently general admission. Doors will open approximately 30 minutes before each show.

Q: Do you take card?
A: No, we currently take cash only.

Q: Is this show scary?
A: No, this show is not scary - *quirky* at best - but not scary. The music and dialogue cleverly weave themes of life and love all throughout the show.
