🌈🎨 World of Color 🎨🌈

Today we explored the wonderful world of color! Campers learned all about the color wheel and discovered how artists use color to create beautiful works of art through exciting, hands-on activities.

Campers experimented with fabric dyeing techniques to create their very own tie-dye pillowcase to take home. They also painted an abstract masterpiece inspired by Australian artist Sheree Smith, using color, movement, and creativity to make each piece unique.

It was a bright, colorful day full of imagination, exploration, and artistic fun! 🌈✨🖌️

End of the year ART SHOW! 🤩🏅🎨

Our Homeschool & After School Creative Club wrapped up the semester with a special art showcase featuring each student’s favorite creations from the year!

Students selected the pieces they were most proud of to display in our end-of-semester exhibit, where their artwork was judged and recognized with awards. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their creativity, hard work, artistic growth, and unique talents.

We are so proud of all they accomplished this semester and can’t wait to see what they create next year! 🤩👏🏻

Homeschool & After school Creative Club completed their Monarch & Mosaic Unit! 🤩

For this unit, students explored the beauty of art in nature. We began by planting a butterfly garden in our courtyard, with each student choosing a flower that specifically attracts butterflies. 🦋 🌷🌻

After working hands-on in the garden, we studied the beautiful design of monarch butterfly wings and talked about how their patterns can resemble stained glass or mosaic artwork. Students also viewed examples of mosaic art and learned how mosaics have been used throughout history.

Students then had the chance to see and feel different types of mosaic tiles before creating their own mosaic stepping stones for the courtyard.
To wrap up the unit, students created beautiful watercolor butterflies. Each student chose a wing design and practiced watercolor techniques such as wet-on-wet painting and blending colors within the same color family.
