Auditions May 25-26, 7PM
Auditions for the Players' 25th Summer One Acts will be held, May 25-26, 7 PM, at the Backdoor Theater, 1619 49th Street S, Gulfport. Ten original one act plays, never performed in the Tampa Bay area will be presented this year. Five directors will be looking to cast a variety of adults, ranging in age from the early 20s to late 70s for roles ranging from light drama to comedy. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please arrive a few minutes early.

Mike Nower directs and is looking to cast 2 women (65+) and 2 men(65+). Ideal auditioners should have a British accent. Please arrive a few minutes early to complete an audition form or use the write-in audition form available on the website.
"Quartet" by Ronald Harwood is a play set in a retirement home for musicians. It centers on four opera singers, once a celebrated quartet, who reunite to perform a concert celebrating Verdi's birthday. The arrival of Jean, a former star and Reginald's ex-wife, disrupts the established dynamics and stirs up old rivalries and unresolved feelings. The play explores themes of aging, forgiveness, love, and friendship, culminating in a bittersweet performance where the quartet lip-syncs to their past recording.
