Dried Flowers

Soft colors which once were bright
Still hold magic and delight
Green leaves now tinted brown
Still hold powers to reverse a frown
Tender peddles fresh from the medow
Now reveal shades a bit more mellow
Vivid memories take on times’ hue
Dried flowers always remind me of you

A thought as we move forward...

I tried to make things move faster
I tried to avoid the daily disasters
It was a purposeful pursuit
It was never meant to dilute
Never meant to take away
From the love we found everyday
I just wanted to feel more real
Simply supply a life with appeal
While forging forth on paths unknown
Tried to remember where we’d grown
Where we’d seen the lights of us
Where we’d shared a sacred trust
While I never lament life we discarded
I wish to remember things regarded
As dear as near as ever and forever
Moments spent far from clever
Were the times we saw so very much
Were times we reached and touched
Each other in ways we shan’t again
Never forget where you found the true meaning of a Friend.

Lose and leave lost your lack luster lament
Be brave and bold but being benevolent
Cause cold crass creatures careful consideration
About awful actions aid avid avoidance of abomination
Pursue power peace provide for prince and pauper
Show shaken souls serenity, surely seen a sadness stopper...

A Mom To Me...

When the whole world wants you to lick your wounds and move on

A Mom puts you to bed, gives you a meal and gives the fissures time to bond

When even your dearest love has taken away their light

A Mom reassures you that there is always day after night

When the scholars say to endure alone and life simply isn’t fair

A Mom ignores the numbers, ignores the science and simply continues to care

When you are truly excited about nothing at all, just want to sing and dance

There she is smiling big and tapping her toes, “baby here’s your chance”...

When you just need Love
Just need peace
Just need rest
Just want pain to decrease

A Mom is who gives all to you
A Mom knows and sees right thru

I’m a Dad, Dad’s are great
Dad’s like reason, Dad’s don’t debate

A Mom is the other half
A soft touch, soft voice, a silly laugh

Moms are the healing, nurturing, life giving power

The sweet sweet joy when the world is sour

A Mom could move mountains for you but knows you’ve got to make a life for yourself

A Mom cares more about others than all of man’s empty wealth

Mom’s are the stars in the night sky,
the sun shining on the sea

The utterly absolutely necessary intangible

That’s a Mom to Me...
