I’m done… my hands, wrists, elbows, neck… can’t take this any more. 😞 I’ve been in this business for over 31 years, and I think it’s time. I ain’t gonna lie, part of me wishes I would have kept the shop in Somerset Wisconsin. We probably would have been better off financially. I Loved working with my other half. Being a TEAM. However, part of the reason we closed up shop was to try and help my hands by moving to a warmer climate, per my chiropractors suggestion saying I have too many “Itises”. The last 10 years have gone by so Fast! Tattooing all over half the country had its fun times for sure, but also it’s fair share of struggles. It’s nice to be able to go anywhere and do what you do, however, the clients don’t come with. Some found me where-ever I was and for them I’m truly grateful! But, every time we moved I basically had to start over, again and again. After not tattooing for over a month here in Vegas, even tho I was at a shop… UGH! Not to mention for the last few years if I wasn’t tattooing I would spend as much time as possible outside of the shop I was at because I can’t handle all of the Noise. Since menopause, it drives me crazy to be in loud busy places. The radio playing, the TV playing sometimes at the same time, all the voices of everyone talking… I couldn’t concentrate. I also miss having my little private studio in Wimberley Texas. Where I controlled the environment. After tattooing on my own for so long being back in a “shop” was chaotic. The “industry” has also changed So MUCH!!! I’m not a fan. At the shop in Somerset Langer would do all of my promotions. I suck at promoting myself. I don’t want to have to do a song and dance, dog and pony show or whatever else to attract clients. I think it should be enough that one does good work but these days… Crap tattooers can be busy AF scarring peoples skin or can’t pack color to save their lives because their online presence is captivating. Meh. The Health departments I’ve dealt with are basically a joke. Just out there to take peoples money just like everything else these days. Health regulations being ignored and nobody cares. It’s almost laughable. Almost. I got into tattooing because I loved to draw and do art. Now days people just want to pick out someone elses tattoo they saw online for you to copy. Or they want lines. Little linework tattoos or lettering is just not my thing. Sorry if that offends anyone but I feel more like a tattoo dispenser than an artist. Just tracing stuff off. Nah, I’m good. Then dealing with Drunk people who don’t know what they want or where and they are loud, obnoxious, won’t sit still… then complain later that this line coulda been straiter or whatever. I could go on and on. Getting old sux and the older I get the less patience for bu****it I have. So… I’m done. No idea what’s next or even what I can do with my hands and wrists being compromised. However, if friends or past clients find themselves in Vegas and want a little something, for now, let me know! I still enjoy doing Art. Thank you to All my clients over the years for supporting me. ✌️♥️😸
