The Admiral Band and the Gulfport School District proudly welcome Mr. Braden Taylor! We are so excited to have him join our Fine Arts family as the new Assistant Band Director at Bayou View Middle School. We can’t wait to see the impact he will have on our students and program. Welcome to the team, Mr. Taylor!🧡💙
Here’s a little bit about Mr. Taylor:
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Arkansas State University, where I had the privilege of serving as principal bass clarinetist in the Wind Ensemble and as the tenor saxophone section leader in The Sound of the Natural State Marching Band. I also performed with the Howlers Pep Band, supporting our university’s athletic events.
I am a primary clarinetist and specialize in low reeds, clarinet, and saxophone, which allows me to work with and support a wide variety of students and ensembles. I also have experience with piano and front ensemble percussion.
I began my teaching career in the Bald K**b School District, where I taught 6–12 grade bands, including beginner classes, middle school band, high school band, and marching band, and supported recruitment efforts.
I also served as Assistant Band Director at DeSoto Central, where I co-taught 6–12 grade bands, including beginning band, 7th grade band, 8th grade band, high school concert band, marching band, and indoor winds.
Outside the classroom, I’ve taught private clarinet lessons and regularly performed as a pianist and keyboardist in church worship settings. I’m passionate about helping students build strong musical foundations, and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the Bayou View Middle School and the Gulfport School District band program.
I’m excited to get started and become a part of the band family!
