Another Letter from Trevor

Dear Theatre-Going Public,

This is Carly, one of our actors and our resident WWE Superstar.

Backstage, her specialty is “helping,” although her methods occasionally resemble a professional wrestling match performed in complete darkness. She provides sound effects, unusual noises, safety assistance and, when necessary, a perfectly timed helping hand from a direction no one anticipated.

If someone is falling, Carly is there. If something needs catching, lifting, dragging or quietly body-slamming into position, she is ready. No request is too strange, and no solution is too unconventional.

Most importantly, Carly is always on time. Never late. I’ve checked the records, and frankly, it’s suspicious.

Come witness Carly’s unique approach to teamwork in The Play That Goes Wrong at South Baldwin Community Theatre. Get your tickets before she helps you get them.

Reluctantly impressed,
Trevor

Another Letter from Trevor

This is Anna, who plays Annie, who eventually plays Florence Colleymoore in The Murder at Haversham Manor… honestly, keeping track of these people is becoming a full-time job.

Annie begins the evening as our nervous little stage manager, clutching the script like it contains both the meaning of life and written permission to panic. But when Florence suddenly becomes unavailable, Annie is forced into the spotlight.

And this insecure little diamond discovers something dangerous: she likes it.

She wants the role. She needs the applause. She craves the audience’s affection with the emotional stability of a shopping cart rolling downhill. Her performance may be mediocre, but her determination is magnificent. Once Annie gets a taste of the spotlight, she is willing to fight anyone, including the actual actress, to keep it.

Come watch Anna play Annie playing Florence while Trevor quietly questions every decision that led him here.

A Letter from Trevor: Regarding Max

This is Max.

Max is definitely one to watch, preferably from a safe distance.

The fourth wall means absolutely nothing to him. He does not simply perform for an audience; he feeds upon their laughter and requires immediate gratification at all times. Strangely, he can sense when the audience is enjoying his antics, which only encourages him.

No lasting harm comes to Max, except what is self-induced. Even his slow-motion encounter with a sword somehow ends with him coming out on top. His enthusiasm is admirable. His judgment around humans and weapons is deeply irresponsible.

Come witness Max bask in attention, battle basic safety standards, and enjoy every disastrous second of The Play That Goes Wrong at South Baldwin Community Theatre.

A Letter from Trevor

Dear Audience,

Here we have Florence Colleymoore, played by Sandra… who is technically played by Jennifer. Keeping track of these people has become a full-time job, and I am still not being paid.

Florence is the original “episode girl.” She can have an episode like no one else can have an episode. We have also learned that when Florence has an episode, it quickly becomes everybody’s episode.

She also possesses the unique ability to appear backstage and move from one place to another with astonishing speed. It is uncanny. None of us can understand how she accomplishes this task, and frankly, some things are better left unexplained.

She is dramatic. She is unpredictable. She is rarely vertical for long.

Come witness this unexplained phenomenon in The Play That Goes Wrong at South Baldwin Community Theatre.

Another Letter from Trevor

Dear Concerned Members of the Public,

Allow me to introduce Perkins, played by Dennis, who is played by Erin Woerner. Yes, three identities in one body. That alone should concern you.

Perkins is not a bad person. He has good intentions, a brave spirit, and a deeply troubling relationship with large words. Once he gets caught in a verbal loop, there is no stopping him. You simply wait, remain calm, and hope he eventually finds the exit.

He also possesses the remarkable ability to turn a simple task into a complicated expedition filled with unnecessary steps, questionable decisions, and mild physical danger.

To his credit, he usually stays out of my way. Still, I keep one eye on him at all times. His motives may be innocent, but innocence will not protect you when a seemingly harmless favor ends with you trapped beneath the scenery.

Come see Erin play Dennis playing Perkins in The Play That Goes Wrong at South Baldwin Community Theatre.

He means well. That is precisely what worries me.

Suspiciously yours,
Trevor
