The scraps are multiplying.

One thing nobody tells you about being a fabric designer is how many fabric scraps you end up with. I’ve been slowly stitching my Gulf Breeze leftovers into a little patchwork piece and quilting it with the 12 wt thread from my Aurifil Thread box.

The texture is so good.

Slow summer sewing looks a lot like this.

A handful of flying geese, favorite fabrics, and a project with no deadline attached.

In a season that can feel busy in all the best ways, I love having a simple make waiting for me in the sewing room. A few stitches here, a few stitches there, and eventually something beautiful takes shape.

It’s that time of year to celebrate all of the amazing teachers who pour so much into our kids every single day. Now that my kiddos have officially given their gifts, I can finally share this special project.

Once your kids hit middle school, gifting feels a little different since they each have 6 teachers. We usually keep things simple and thoughtful, but they both have one teacher who has such a meaningful part of their story. My daughter has been in her class for the last 3 years, and my son will have her for the next 2. She’s one they will never forget.

I had so much fun designing these Gulf Breeze ribbons for to coordinate with charm to your projects. There are 6 unique designs, each one created to pair beautifully with the fabrics.

These pillows were such a joy to make for my Gulf Breeze Lookbook.

offers a Block of the Month series, and the blocks are the perfect size for turning into pillows…quick, satisfying, and a beautiful way to bring your sewing into your everyday spaces.

I especially love the Summer Blooms pillow, with the fussy-cut flamingo right at the center. It felt like the perfect way to highlight one of my favorite prints from the Gulf Breeze collection and add a playful, personal touch to my home.

This quilt was such a joy to make

I used the Scrappy Starlight quilt pattern by for my Gulf Breeze collection, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect match. It’s quick, it’s playful, and lets each print have its moment.

What I especially loved? Getting to use all 12 prints from Gulf Breeze in one quilt. It gave it that perfectly scrappy, coastal feel that just makes me happy.

If you’ve been looking for a project that’s approachable, this is such a good one…plus, the pattern is FREE on Dana’s website.

Today we started photographing the Gulf Breeze collection, and it turned into one of those afternoons I wish I could bottle up forever.

My son helped me carry quilts down to the water, chase the light, and capture a few moments for the upcoming lookbook.

Two quilts.
Soft coastal colors.
And the kind of inspiration that only happens near the sea.
