It seems that nearly every time I start a project it is with the intention of gifting or ends up as a gift. I rarely make anything for myself or our home. So I set out with a goal this time around to make myself a new set of kitchen linens. I've made a couple of hot pads. One I'm very please with, the other, not so much. It was fun exploring new ideas with it though.

Lately I've been making washcloths. I found a free pattern while scrolling on Pinterest. It is called the Berry Clean Washcloth. I will post the link at the bottom. I like how simple the texture is. The pattern is super easy and it comes out nice a neat. I like any of my project to be complete with a nice even crisp edge.

I didn't buy any yarn for this project. I used any 100% cotton yarn I had on hand. Which is a lot! I used my wonderful Furls hook H. Seriously the hook glides through the stitches like warm butter. Best investment I have EVER made on my hobby.

Been really busy with work and appointments and just every day life. So this project although it be a simple work, it has taken a long time to get any progress done on it. I am working a C2C crochet stitch. I have only just learned this pattern and it is seriously the neatest blanket pattern! The yarn I'm working with is Bernat Baby Sport. I am using my size H Furls Odyssey Blue crochet hook. Doesnt it look so dashing with the blue yarn on a sunshiny day!?
This little beauty will be going to a momma in my church, just in time, hopefully, to meet her little man. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Just a little of what's been going on in my life lately. How about that winter storm we had come through for 2 weeks! I love snow and am much more comfortable in colder weather. But that was pretty extreme! Check out the frozen lake and I can't believe I was able to get such a detailed photo of snowflakes ON MY PHONE! I got some quality time snuggling with the furballs. They really do enjoy the things I make. I completed the beautiful red blanket in the picture. I'll eventually get an official photo of it posted. Last month I had the chance to go to a small yarn business in Tulsa and picked up some beautiful yarn. I wasn't sure of what I was going to do with it exactly. It ended up going to the hook in the form of a C2C crochet pattern. I have never tried it before and I ❤ IT! I already have 2 more projects planned out and I haven't even finished this one yet! At least I already have the yarn needed for the next 2 projects 😊 Although I think that may be what has me so anxious to start another 😆

This baby has about seen the last of its toting days. Nearly done with this great throw blanket. Look at all the wonderful texture! Once it is done I will add an updated post and images with the link to the artist that helped me start this pattern.

This little boy is making it hard to work on this blanket but it sure feels wonderful having kitty snuggles. Current project will be a personal one. I am using the last of my recycled yarn I pulled out of a previous blanket. I think he likes it 🙂

Super busy lately! Scurry around to get last minute Christmas gifts made up. Haven't made headband earwarmers in a very long time. I had seen a neat trick that seems to be kind of popular lately with closing up your ends. It give it this really cool twisted look!
Goals for this week while off from my regular full time job will be to go through all my past projects completed but not shown off. Hopefully take some good photos and get them posted.
There just doesnt seem like there are enough hours in the day to crochet everything I have my heart set on making. Just be content with what I can make 😊

A few years ago I crocheted a really large afghan for my king bed. Since I completed it the blanket has spent more time folded up in the back of my linen closet then being used. It was rather heavy, making it where it was the only blanket we could have on the bed. With it's texture it didnt make it a very comfy blanket for sleeping well either. So I decided to repurpose the yarn. It ripped out pretty easy and the yarn still seems to be in good shape. I am hopeing I can get maybe two good throw blankets out of the yarn. And if I work quickly maybe they can be a part of someone's Christmas gifts.
Oh and I can't forget to include my never faltering sidekick. Midnight the yarn slayer or is it the snuggler?

I have gotten so carried away in living day to day for a while now that the stress monster finally caught up to me and bit me in the butt. It is starting to show physically, mentally and emotionally in me daily. I have good days where most of everything falls into line and has ran pretty smooth. Most days it's just crap. Our hurt is still peaking but I have reached out for help this past month or so. This weather hasn't helped much either. All I can say is one more day of this rain in the forecast then sunny days for the future.

On to happier thoughts. I am trying something new! I received a book for my birthday last month. Celtic Cable Crochet by Bonnie Barker. I am following the Silky and Chic Cowl pattern. I however suck at gauges and this cable work is so new to me. So excuse the clumsiness of my work 😉 I'm excited to see the end results of this cowl when I'm done!

I'm working this in Lion Brand Yarns Feels Like Butta with my Furls Odyssey Blue crochet hook. Which glides through this yarn! Seriously feels like I'm cutting through soft butter.

Cat snuggles and crocheting. My two favorite loves. You know your furball is in heaven when they are slack jaw teeth baring slumber. Had my favorite furls hook out over the weekend. Put together this little piece.

It has been entirely to long. It is getting easier and easier every day to skip out on social media. I skipped out on Instagram for a while. Getting on every now and then to escape and see the beautiful talent of who I follow. I love to crochet among soooooo many other things, with so many ideas of things I'd love to try. There is not enough time in a day, week, year or lifetime to enjoy everything. I find the task of working a full time job (I am very grateful I was able to return back to) completely time consuming. I feel like I'm hardly giving enough time and attention to the nest. God knows I dont have time to do any hobbies. This chickadee is exhausted with 2020 and is ready for a snow day.

I was mortified with myself when I looked back to see when my last post here was. I knew it was close to a year, but 2!? Surely not! I have crafted and created. But unfortunately never really seemed to have time for pictures of proof. Here I am doing what I have to and here is one thing I have managed to do that I wanted to.

By the way, I treated myself to two hooks from that I had wanted for a long time! I ABSOLUTELY ❤ THEM! My favorite hooks. 🧶

Finished the critter hammock 🙂. I think I need to add a couple more command hooks on each side for extra support. The little monsters keep wanting to fall out the sides. Decided to not add poms. Just went with a clean edge in black instead. Happy with the results 🖤
