Good afternoon from the fair office. I think all of us are dragging a little today. Even Huey and Luey haven't pulled any tricks......that I know of. Great Tractor Pull last night. Today has been a full day of livestock judging and it's not over. This shows this evening will start with bottle calves at 6 pm followed by dairy cattle then the beef judging. Tomorrow is the last day of the fair but still plenty to watch. Parade of Champions at noon, Supreme Showmanship at 1pm with the Project Sale wrapping up the 2026 Poweshiek County fair at 3 pm. Dates have been set for the 2027 fair. July 10 & 13 - 18.

The 2026 Chocolate Chip Cookie Contest was so fun, for everyone except the judges. They are currently boycotting anything resembling a cookie!!!

We had 12 kids entries and 28 adult entries and they said it was a really tough decision.

Winner of the kids division was Valorie Peart. And winner of the adult division was Josh Urfer.

Congratulations to Valorie & Josh and thank you to all of the participants!!!

Good morning from the fair office. Well Huey and Lewy aka Curtis & Ryan have been at it again. I get to the fairgrounds to find an extra sign added to my reserved parking sign. At least we are still having fun in spite of this crazy heat wave. Swine show kicks off at 8 this morning. Horse games at 1 pm. We have a special guest coming this evening. The 2025 Iowa State Fair queen Riah Schrage will be helping to serve at the 4-H County Council Ice Cream fund raiser plus singing the National Anthem to kick off the 3rd Annual truck & tractor pull. We are looking forward to having her be a part of our fair.

Good morning from the fair office. I found out yesterday there are a lot of sneaky people around here including my own family......but sneaky in a good way. Thank you for the flowers and recognition of my 25 years of service to the Poweshiek County Fair. As far as committing to another 25 can't promise that. I'd like to pick on Curtis & Ryan again, but I think I'll be nice today, but only today. Another busy day at the county fair. The horse show is well underway. The buildings at Heritage Park are open from 10 am - 2 pm and they are air conditioned. The Rock-Climbing Wall will be here from 2-5 pm. The day will conclude with the Bill Riley Talent Show at 7 pm. This is a time change from previous years.
