The Conney M. Kimbo Black Cultural Center is excited to bring The COLLECTIVE to campus starting Thursday, September 29th.

The COLLECTIVE is a space to recollect and sustain practices in the power of cultural memory. Led by Breanne Ward, Founder/CEO of ForWard Consulting, LLC and licensed mental health counselor, students will engage in cultural memory practices and narrative-building skills and discuss cultural complexities.

Narrative-building skills can be found in Narrative Therapy which helps someone deconstruct problematic dominant stories, re-author these stories, and remember conversations through writing, rituals, celebration, and ceremonies.

This space is designed to center Black-identified students at Grinnell College.

We ask that you be in community with us this year for five sessions held monthly. This is a great opportunity for community building and making deeper, authentic connections that allow us to see each other.

Save the dates:
September 29
October 27
November 17
February 23
April 27

Time: Noon to 1pm CST

Join via WebEx at bit.ly/thecollectivebcc

*This space is not held as a support group and should not be seen as a placeholder for therapeutic services.
